EXERCISE FOCUS: Drawing Stroke Control - this exercise will strengthen your ability to control the drawing instrument i.e. the pencil, charcoal, or pastel. As well as consistency in your stroke pattern

 

STROKE TECHNIQUE:  Hatching & Cross-hatching to shade in the blossom's petals.  In the background, use darker tones to bring the Magnolia Blossom to the front causing sharp contrast.

Download the Magnolia Blossom image below, print on 81/2" X 11 "paper several copies for practice, or in your 11" X 14" drawing pad draw the blossom and follow the instruction above.
